Getting started guide

Everything that works today, in five minutes

This guide only describes what the app can really do right now. A few features ship switched off on purpose, and they are listed honestly at the bottom.

1. Create or import a wallet

  • Open Create wallet, choose a wallet name and a local wallet password of at least 10 characters.
  • Write the 12-word recovery phrase on paper, in order, and keep it offline. It is the only thing that can rebuild the wallet.
  • Coming from another wallet? Use Import wallet to paste a recovery phrase, or restore an encrypted backup file or image.
  • The wallet password is never stored anywhere. If you forget it, re-import the recovery phrase.

2. Receive and send

  • On Receive, pick the chain first, then share the address or let the sender scan the QR code.
  • On Send, pick the chain and asset, enter the recipient and amount, then confirm with your wallet password.
  • The sender must use the same chain you selected. Your 0x address exists on many networks, but the balances do not move between them.

3. Chains and fees

  • Available: Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Optimism, Avalanche C-Chain, Base and Solana.
  • Your EVM address is identical on every EVM chain, and different from your Solana address.
  • Every transfer costs a small fee in that chain's own coin (ETH, BNB, POL, AVAX or SOL), so keep a little for gas.
  • MSG (MSGChain) is prepared but disabled, so no MSG address or balance appears yet.

4. Back up before you need it

  • Open Settings, then Local Backup or Encrypted Import / Export, and export a backup to a file or drive you control.
  • There are two different passwords: the wallet password unlocks this device, the backup password encrypts the file. Neither one is stored.
  • A backup does not contain the wallet password, so a restored device still needs the original wallet password or the recovery phrase.

5. Accept payments as a merchant

  • In Merchant settings, set the shop name and the receiving address. That is all it takes to become a merchant.
  • Use POS for a counter sale and Create payment link for remote customers.
  • Orders confirm by themselves once the payment appears on chain with the matching reference.

6. MSG / MSGChain status

  • AIPAY is prepared for MSGChain, but MSG is not enabled: the shipped configuration keeps it off.
  • Nothing MSG-related can be used yet, and MSGChain merchant payouts are not open.
  • This page will be updated when MSGChain publishes the mainnet parameters.
